Sound from microphone is very faint

Some sound cards need an active microphone amplification – if your microphone sound is faint, try opening start -> programs -> accessories -> entertainment -> mixer and go to file -> properties. Set the radio “dot” in recording and press ok. You should also enable advanced features.When viewing the mixer now, there should be a “+5V” or “+5dB” setting or similar below the microphone input. Enable this, adjust the volume and test the volume levels once more.
